and now in craft news

I guess I've been pretty productive after all. When I took photos of everything it gave me a chance to take stock of my completed (or nearly completed) projects and it makes me feel good.

Babies. Everyone's having babies, it seems. This is for a co-worker.

But I secretly call it "My binding sucks." I hated it and M looked at it and told me that it's homemade, so wonky binding just adds to the charm. Isn't he sweet?


This is my favorite part. Hand-embroidered name on the bottom. I used a font called Grasshopper.

Of course after I took that photo, all I wanted to do was play with my macro settings.


I have a bunch of errands to run today, but I intend to knit on this hat which is hurting my hands. But I am stubborn. The pattern is from here with some deviation. I'm using Sugar'n Cream's cotton yarn in just Ecru (no stripes) with US3 needles. It seems to be going well. I've not changed the number of stitches or pattern yet and so far so good. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hopefully soon I'll have a floppy brim hat to wear to the beach.


And then this from the other night when I was just itchin to paint and to also have a completed project. It went surprisingly quickly.


M and I went to that Celtics game a few weeks ago and I realised that we didn't have any shirts to represent. So I found this great font called Marcelle Script (includes those great swooshes) and used that as the basis for this shirt.

I came up with a great way to paint on shirts to make it easier. I'll try and remember to photograph it for a tutorial post since I need to make one for M next.

And lastly. Another tote for my brother. Same design as the last one but with navy blue fabric lining the inside and just plain canvas for the outside.

I'm sorry to say that if you don't speak Korean, the joke of this bag will be lost on you. It just doesn't translate. But just know that it continues the doody humour that James is so fond of. I wish I could have captured his response on film when I presented him with this tote. Or that he was drinking something cause that would have been darned funny too.
